I think in the 3 months i had my 8300HD DVR i had maybe 1-2 HDCP errors ('Your TV does not support HDCP')
Well after having a bad box swapped out 2 weeks ago, i've now had about 5-6 in that time.... The only way i can get my 30" Panny HDTV to work again is to unplug the 8300 power and plug it back in....
Any ideas why this is happening so much?

Can't help, but I can say this has been happening to me as well. This is still my original box- it started happening after I left for a few days and unplugged the power from the box. Same fix as you, unplug, replug, all is well.

i've been in touch with tech support TODAY, Wed March 2.
There was an update last night (unsure if that was the culprit), but they are tracking several of these HDMI issues this morning.
Mine has worked for a month now with no problem and was working this morning at 1am, but when we awoke, the error screen says 'Your TV does not support HDCP'
No amount of rebooting, restarting, etc. has solved it.
Its a shame, because on this 30inch tube Sony, the HDMI picture & sound is much better than component.

We have a Panasonic DLP set with the SA8300 HD DVR Receiver. Last week we got the smae error message as you. When my wife called we were told there was a server down and he reset the 8300 from the helpdesk site.
Monday night, same error message. This time the tech had no idea what was going on, I manually reset it and he told me that they just did a code upgrade and that HDMI might not work anymore.
He was not a smart guy so I don't put much value in his comments.

I spoke with a technical support rep at BHN this morning and she had me reboot my box using (vol+), (vol-), (info) buttons simultaneously on the front of the SA8300HD box. It rebooted and my problem went away (i.e no more HDCP messages). She said they were having luck with some peoples box/TV combos this way. Anyway, it worked for me, but you mileage may vary.
Jaymer, I posted the same thing on the other thread. Sorry in advance for the duplicate post.
