View Full Version : WFLA HD Picture Quailty - Muiticasting
:( Watched Law & Order last night for the first time with my Samsung OTA STB. The picture had small black vertical bars on the sides (aspect ratio of about 14:9). Did WFLA not broadcast the show in HD? The HD shows on CBS and ABC filled the screen completely and I made no adjustments to picture format when changing between channels. Is this an artifact of there muiticasting? Also, the picture quality wasn't as good as the HD programs on ABC and CBS.

They must have had a control room error because NBC's HD is like the others....it fills the screen even though the multi-casting sucks up too much bandwidth.

No it wasn't in HD last night, it should have been.
Sometimes the network doesn't transmit in HD, and sometimes the local station just forgets to hit the switch and turn it on.
If you are watching live you can call the station and ask for engineering and politly ask him why the show isn't in HD.
Just don't say your name is Jaymer. ;)
Thanks, I was hoping that was the problem. I was worried that my STB had a scaling problem that was triggered only by WFLAs' signal (how that would be possible I have know idea) or even more frightening that WFALs' HD picture looked like that normally!! :D
