I am getting my Signal via BHN and the HDVR SAhd8300 Cable box.
At first I connected the box to the TV via an HDMI cable, which worked till I tried to connect the HDMI cable to the LG DVB418 Up-converting DVD Player. That worked but when I tried to go back to the HDMI output on the Cable box it Never Worked again. Called BHN and they told me that they would not be supporting the HDMI output till June. So now I have it hooked to the TV via Component out. Pic looks great on HD channels and not so good on SD channels. I also have a Motorola Signal booster connected to the Cable line in, and then pass that to the cable box. I have not tested it with out the signal booster yet. Was in a Hurry to get everything set up for the Super Bowl. Now I will have to evaluate all my connection and start to Tweak.

Question I have heard with DLP that u need to wait like 160 hours of use before you Try to Calibrate your set, is this true?
Thank u guys all of you on this forum I am so Stoked to be in the HD-club and not a
by-stander anymore!!!

ahh, well that explains why you couldn't check out Leno - I'm not a Leno fan, but its remarkable in HD. But you shouldn't have neeed TVTome to tell you that he wasn't in HD. Especially if you tune back and forth between channels 10 and 610, you'd see pretty much the same picture during Letterman, and a MASSIVE difference during CSI. Tuning between the two FOXs or two CBSs is a world of difference when HD is on. (color will be different, for sure, but we're talking about picture width (HD is wide screen) and clarity.)

i have my Sony VEGA working with HDMI-HDMI cable - works fine except for some anomalies listed over in that thread.

The amp isn't going to affect your digital picture AT ALL. When you're watching one of the lower channels (below 70 i think) then you could have some "snow" improved cause those are analog signals still-channel 7 is traditionally the fuzziest channel due to wave interference from other things. But if your box boots up, then it successfully acquired an IP address and the CLARITY of an HD signal (or any channel above 70, but for sure above 100) isn't going to improve - its digital 1s & 0s so its all there or not.
Now, some of us HAVE had issues where a low signal coming to the DVR might make some HD channels (600s+) appear totally black, OR the DVR might have trouble recording (that was more on the original 8000 though), but with the AMP i doubt thats an issue.

Hey, feel free to check out your stuff and increase your knowledge, but thinking that Letterman ON CHANNEL 610 is going to look better due to
1) an amplifier
2) component vs. HDMI swapping
just aint gonna happen.

You said "SD is not so good" - well, thats relative. Sure, its not so good... for anyone... relative to their TV size or how smart their TVs electronics are (some have line doublers for SD material). But you watch what you have to watch :) Here's something... does Letterman look any WORSE than watching something on NBC channel 7?

Thanks Jaymer-
Now that I know that Letterman is not in HD that Tell me that all my stuff is working GOOD. I have researched a Lot on this form and On AVS.com before I made a purchase and feel that for what I paid I got a Great deal.
I now just need to learning the diffrent ways people are doing HD. I saw CSI and World of Jim and Some ABC HD shows that look unreal. discovery HDNET all those Unreal as well. ESPNHD does not seem to have a lot of HD on it but I guess all is still really New so with time we will see more. I am going to just watch HD shows on the TV and Play Xbox or watch DVDs as all those look Killer and If their is something on ie Vegas that I dont currently get in HD , I just watch that in the other room on my 30 inch crt tv. That is untill I get one of those OTA turners and Attn.
Thanks Again u all are Great!!
