So we're watching the Bucs on channel 613, and it's filling the 16:9 screen - very nice. Then all of a sudden, half through the 2nd quarter, it goes to 4:3 :x :x :x :x :x :x Anyone else notice this?

Yes I noticed it too.. Very bad .... As the tend seems to be I watch in HD the Bucs win. No HD the Bucs lose.

Back from vacation and was watching the bucs game and after had a few things to do. Just so you know it wasn't BHN fault with the black bars on the bucs game. It happened to me OTA and I no longer have BHN anymore. Blame FOX on this one. I may hate BHN but I hate FOX worse so I will give BHN an edge on this one.

I think D* just uses the feed that FOX transmits and basically just rebroadcasts it. So since it was on my local FOX station because one of the two teams was my home team (Bucs) than your local station most likely didn't broadcast this game so you would get the same exact feed I was getting but by D* where that channel on D* was blacked out for me because it was on my local station. Also the HD game of the week by CBS at 4pm was blacked out on channel 70 on D* for me but I was able to watch the HD feed on my local CBS stations digital channel on 10-1 and it was indeed HD I can't tell you that much. So if my local CBS station wasn't showing that game locally than I would have watched this game on channel 70 via D* instead of my local CBS on channel 10-1 (WTSP-DT).

I know this might be kind of complex but that is the way it works. D* only passes along what the providers give them (providers are FOX and CBS). Now with D* if a game is broadcast locally on your FOX and/or CBS station (in my case it would be WTSP-TV/DT and WTVT-TV/DT) you would be blacked out on the Sunday Ticket channels and would be forced to watch them on D* channels 10 and/or 13 or 10-1 and/or 13-1.

Keep in mind that FOX is NOT in HD, only 16x9 format 480P.
