There is a wave that runs up my tv, that is especially noticeable when the screen is dark. I have a BHN tech scheduled to come out Wed, but I wanted to feel it out on the forum so I am informed. It only happens on my digital box, not the regular analog coax. They said my signal measured +14, and It should ideally be between +10 & -10. What is frustrating is they put a signal booster last time the guy came out. I just moved into my condo in Dec. and the 1st guy removed a signal booster:confused: It's about a 30 yo condo and I am on the 3rd floor, so I am wondering if I am losing alot?
It really isn't that big of a deal but if I am paying 100% I feel I should have 100% satisfaction for my service.
Any ideas? Oh yeah, I also notice the reqular analog channels suck even more thru the digital cable than they do regular. I think this has been mentioned. I just registered, but have been reading post for some time.

Sounds odd. I don't remember anyone in here ever mentioning anything like that. It'll be interesting to hear what the tech says. please keep us informed.

If you've also got an audio hum I'd suspect a ground loop problem. I had that (wave and hum) when I connected the VCR output to a capture board in a computer.

Some detective work is in order. If it's only coming from the digital signal box then connect a TV directly to that box, without any signal booster, and see if there is still a problem. If the problem is only on the TVs connected to the signal booster, then thats the problem.
The small amp(signal booster) is more likely to have a bad power supply, in which the filter caps on the AC/DC converter are going bad and allowing some AC onto the DC output of the power supply that feeds the amp.
If the booster is feeding the digital box, I wouldn't think that a hum bar would pass through a digital decoder, but who knows?

Well, the cable guy came out and couldn't fix it. He plugged the cable directly into the tv, instead of going thru the my Denon reciever. I wasn't home when he was there my friend was, so when I got home I tried pluging it up directly mysef. It did appear to get rid of the wave, but I could still see some minor imperfections in the digital signal. Anyways, I plugged it back up to the reciever and am just going to live with it.
To go over my isue again, it is a horizontal bar that ghosts up the screen. Nobody else really notices it until I point it out, but I am one of those guys that is annoyed by little things like that. My buddy that waited at my house for the BHN tech said he made a comment "your buddy must watch alot of tv if that bothers him":D Hey, can you blame me for wanting perfect service.
Anyways thanks for the help!!!

quezilla, why is your cable running throught your denon reciever? Can you clarify that! Do you run your cable from the wall to your digital box then your to your tv or what? Do you use a cable surge protector? No matter what your signal is it would make your picture have a humbar.

I have all of my composite cables running thru my reciever. Should I not do this:confused: I have my, Xbox 360, and cable box all going into the Denon. I mainly did it so I could switch from the 360 to digital cable easily thru the reciever. I do use a surge protector, but I don't plug the coax into it. Would I be better off plugging the composite cables from the digital box and the 360 directly into the tv? I guess I could figure out how to program this into my 880 where it all changes over with one button, right?
Also, there is never any humbar when the 360 is on, and it goes thru the Denon as well.
Thanks for your help!:D
