Something I found usefull is the fact that the pace box down converts hd and sends it out the svideo and composite outputs...and actually makes a better than usual picture if your stuck with a sdtv :D

The video and sound passthrough is a convenient feature too if you have a older set with only one component (or composite) input and want to hook up a dvd player....you just turn the cable box off and the A/V from the dvd player passes right through to the tv.

Do the HD boxes (PACE) from BHN cost extra?

I was reading that on Comcast cable, if you own your own HD cable box you can get HBO-HD and SHOTIME-HD free. In fact, Comcast said that they don't mind, and the extra $5 for these channels was actually HD box rental.

Just wondering.

BH charges the same for the hd capable box as the normal digital box...they do charge a extra fee if you have a dvr cable box though.

I was told that they do not charge extra for the PVR box but that they charge for the service. It was something like $10-$15 if you did not have RoadRunner and $5-$10 if you did.

Set the Pace Box to PASS & 4:3.

Watching SD pressing # will switch to wide screen (Normal)

In HD (not ABC) pressing the # on the remote switches between 1080i & 420p

On ABC (628) pressing # still switches between 480p & 1080i, but it synchs up on 480p. So on a non-HD broadcast, ABC is now watchable without going into the menu.
