anyone else experiencing worse coverage in the past 6 weeks.
some days, i even Digital Roam in my house now... and sometimes don't get a ring on the phone, although if they leave voice mail, i'll get that msg. (which, someone said at Sprint is a different type of signal and thats why you can miss a call, but get txt msgs)

My coverage also seems worse. I attributed it to a new phone, but maybe not. I have such a good deal with Sprint, I can't afford to leave them.

My SprintPCS signal has gotten better over the last year. I used to have to go out onto the driveway to totally prevent a call of any duration from being dropped. Now, I can use the phone inside and only get dropped about 10-20% of the calls lasting over 5 minutes. The sprint tower maps are finally back up, and I see that I have 4 towers within 3 miles, so I should have good service. I guess enough people in my area complained to get them to refocus their emitters.
It is possible that the hurricane has repositioned some of the tower emitters in your area, so you should call *2 and put in a service complaint.
What is this good deal you speak of. I have a 600/$50 plan with 8pm N&W, nationwide PCS-LD, FIMF, voicemail, and CID. I know there are much better retention offers, if you work at it. I'm considering combining our two accounts and going for a Fair&Flexible option2 plan, which might save a little money, even with the $20 extra phone fee, since they include free PCS to PCS on that plan.

i was going to ask buckeyes that also... whats so great about your deal.
i'm on the 2000 minute for $100/month plan, plus add a phone to share minutes, plus unlimited internet messaging. sweet deal i think... just bad coverage.
when i went through CostCo the other day, the guy tells me "the SANYO has the best coverage... it will have 1-2 more bars than the others". bummer, but ain't gonna change to that phone.

The consensus on the sprintPCS newsgroup is that Sanyo has about the best reception ability.
I'd like a new phone. Just give me a phone with good quality audio and loud enough, with good loud rings. I don't want all the frills like a camera and internet and vision.
One of the features on my current Samsung 8500 is the one-button record feature. I can record the other side of a conversation while driving, with one button. Or, I can hold the button down while off hook and record a voice memo. This is a usefull feature if you need to record some info while you are driving, but would you believe that most of the new phones don't have it anymore! They have dozens of frills, but dumped this useful feature. You would think with all the fuss about talking and driving that they would make voice-dial and voice-memo a priority.
(Yes, your phone might have a record feature.....after negotiating a menu......7-9 button-presses later.)
