I started by checking the web site yesterday and it said it was still unavailable to me.
I didn't believe the web site, since it was 3 months after I had FIOS, before the web site said I actually had it. so I called and asked if I could order the TV package yet. I've had FIOS for over a year already, and was waiting for the TV service to be available.
Customer service rep said, "No, not available yet, but probably soon."
Something told me I should check today, and what do you know, the web site says it is now available to me. The rep said they update the database over night, so it's good to go.
Installation date is May 30, 1-4 PM. I also called DTV and canceled my service effective 6/7, since the bill was paid until then. It gives me a week to compare the 2 services.
I ordered 1 HD DVR, 2 standard settop boxes, the standard package plus movies and sports. Price = $76.34 including taxes. DirecTV was $84.83, with Total Choice Plus, the HD package, HD settop box, SD TIVO, and 1 other standard settop box. No movies or sports package, and NO HD DVR. I think Verizon FIOS TV is a much better deal.
