HI

For some strange reason, I am no longer able to get Fox (HD) 13-1, NBC (HD) 8-1 and NBC (SD) 8-2 without the blotched images.

I am in Riverview and have my antenna pointed due west. Any help would be appreciated. As I said this is some thing that just started to happen three days ago, so I am at a lost.

thanks

Are you getting anything at all or is it choppy? How may antennas do you have? What type of receiver? What is your signal strength for these two channels?

I can't seem to pick up 8.1 today either.

Don't watch it much, but after I read this thread, I decided to take a look. But that station never comes in very good for me anyways.

I usually have more trouble getting Fox but I am getting it fine now.
I have some cheap bunny ears, and using either a e86 or the integrated tuner in my Mitsu ws55813

I live in Riverview, and I am getting 8.1(NBC) and 13.1(FOX) with no problem. However, 3.5(PBS HD) is not coming in at all. Very odd! I have no idea why.

It comes in choppy. I am using an RCA outdoor antenna that is rated for 90 miles but I have it in my attic.

The signal meter shows a peak of about 75 which is good but the actual meter fluctuates from zero to 55. It fluctuates I would say every 10 seconds.

I have never had this problem before.

Sounds like you have a multipath problem. And it sounds like you are so close to the farm that you may need to adjust the VHF antenna away from the farm a little.

Maybe they kicked up their output power and now the multipath is killing you.

I am ignorant to what is multipath, what causes it and how to solve it. Can some one elaborate, please.

Thanks

Multipath is when the stations signal is bounced off of trees, building, etc and hits your antenna at different angles at slightly different times. Then your STB as a difficult time decoding the multiple signals it is receiving.

The best thing to do is change the location of the antenna.

Hi

Originally I had the antenna hanging from nylon strings about 6 inches from the rafters. This meant that even though my antenna was pointed in the correct direction, it was also pointed about 135 degrees pointing to the ground.

So instead I leveled out the antenna just about parallel to the earth by increasing the length of the top string. That has solved the problem.

Lets just hope it solves it permanently.

thanks for your help.
