ESPN-HD started broadcasting Sportscenter in HD today and now all of their content which isn't in HD is no longer stretched. It was very cool to see the sportscasters in HD and also any games that were broadcast originally in HD (the NBA FINALS for instance) have their highlights shown in HD. If I had BHN, I'd be calling them now to complain about it more than ever! If anyone is interested I have a friend who is an authorized Dishnet retailer that will hook anyone up from this website with up to 2 FREE HD receivers or DVR's. Free across the board.

[ EDITED by jaymer - blatant advertising. PM this guy if you are interested in his DISH info, or have the DISH guy pay for advertising on this site. thx ]

I've been waiting for ESPN to do this for a while. This is the best HD-Day ever.

Brighthouse is currently Beta testing "A major sports HD network". When I pressed for confirmation that this was in fact ESPNHD, my response was, "I cannot say, however do you know of any other major sports HD channels?" I don't, unless Fox is up to something. It is nice to know that they are at least in the beta testing stage.

It would be nice if they did in fact bring in ESPN because now with sportscenter in HD that makes the network carry at least 4 times more HD content. Hopefully they will soon because it is well worth it now.

BrightHouse needs to act quickly..... we need to fight against this. It has been over 1 year since ESPN HD has been online and BHN has given us the run around for all of this time. I remember in August of last year, we were told that winter of '03, ESPN would be online.... then it went to Spring of '04. I think what it takes is hit them where it hurts most..... in the pockets. Get ESPN HD or I'm gone..... I'll give them 30 days ..... or Hello VOOM!!!

I want ESPNHD as much as the next guy, but I am not in a rush now.

Yeah they added SCHD but the only sports they are carring till Sept 11 04 is Baseball, and they are only doing games most Sundays and some wednesdays. This is not alot to me, but I realize that I don't like baseball. Either way it seems that INHD is the MLB HD king right now.

I can wait till Sept, and if they don't have it by then I will go D* and get the Sunday Ticket while I am at it.

It's coming.. So I heard it from my Installer today. They're gonna roll it out in July with the HD PVR's. So much to trust these guys, but it seems as if this is the second source we've heard it from.

Hopefully they weren't talking about TNTHD. Will see, only time will tell.

Is the major sports HD Sunshine?? I've seen the sunshine hd channel but found it hard to believe sunshine would be broadcasting anything in hd.

However, as a big college football fan - that would be fantastic.

Sunshine has already broadcast Lightning and Magic games during the season.

What I meant was is Sunshine going to be broadcasting in HD. I see an HD channel for them but haven't seen anything else. I could see BHN referring to Sunshine HD in that fashion.

I doubt it, Sunshine HD has been broadcasting the major events in HD. Not sure if they ever plan to go continuous or not.[/quote]
