Anyone who watches it from time to time - check out the OETA segment - it has the Native Americans dancing around in tribal dress - my tuner card pixelates it in the movement - I wonder is that my box or the feed.

It is the feed, mine does it OTA and via BHN. Some say it is from multicasting the 3 pbs stations rather than one full bandwidth HDTV channel. A full 1080i uses as much as 19mbs and they compress it to
13mbs so they can show more channels. You only see it when there is alot of motion which makes alot of sense when you consider how mpeg compression works. Search "multicast" on AVS or "multicast PBS"

yeah...PBS dropped the ball on that one...not only the pixelation problems but it also looked sharper before they added the two other stations.....I just hope the other local stations don't try to pull that crap and ruin our hd.

Well I called this morning and of course no one was there but I left a voice mail enquiring if they have plans to drop the 2 signals during the evening or drop their bit rate some?

No they are not going to drop the 2 signals. They are here to stay until at least Nov 1.

What makes it really bad is that one of those two channels is the "Florida Channel" which has to be the worst use of bandwidth in the history of broadcasting. I can't imagine how bad your life must be that you would spend time watching that!

OK 2 things -

1. Brian - why November 1st?

2. I am very much into politics, but at least CSPAN has a chance to catch a fight between 2 politicans.
