Did some research so that everyone out there that spends endless hours on ladders trying to pick up WB 38 DT knows why they're up there. This was taken from Sinclair's (WTTA's ownership group) Profit and loss report from Q4 2003:
Digital Television
Of the television stations that we own and operate, as of September 30, 2003, six are operating at their full digital television (DTV) power, thirty-eight are operating their DTV facilities at low power as permitted by the FCC pursuant to special temporary authority and two have pending requests to operate at low power pursuant to special temporary authority. Six stations have applications for digital construction permits pending before the FCC, including one of the stations, which is operating at low power. All of the Cunningham stations with which we have LMAs are operating their DTV facilities at low power pursuant to special temporary authority. Of the other LMA stations, WTTA-TV and WDBB-TV are operating at low power pursuant to special temporary authority, WDKA-TV has been granted a modification of its special temporary authority to operate at low power, WFGX-TV has received an extension of time to construct its digital facility pending FCC action on a petition for rulemaking that it filed requesting a substitute DTV channel, and WNYS-TV has a digital application pending.

hehe,
thx for the legwork.
i'll have my OTA system on tonight for Las Vegas, so I'll see if WB is still dead for me... and I can see the antennas!
those guyse just suck in general.
with 3 major shows that i watch in HD, its a major jip that they are not compliant.

Damn, I guess I don't feel so bad about NEVER EVER ONCE GETTING EVEN A SINGLE DAMN PIXEL FROM THAT DAMN STATION! As you can see I'm rather perturbed that they aren't putting out enough power to make Samantha Fox's hair stand up. I'm here in Clearwater amplifying several antennas from an attic that is encased by a tile roof and stucco walls and I'm getting every available channel but this one. I guess I now I know I should give it up until D-Day....the day analog goes off the air. I guess by then Sinclair will have no choice but to up the power.

I get the just fine......
But.... that is with a CHANNELMASTER 8 bay pointing at Riverview with a preamp.
I get everything great - so when they go to full power.... I will be even happier - no more DXing of Clermont ( which I can do now Jaymer if you need help I was able to do it at my mom's in Walden Lake )

I am in Town n Country (west side near Westchase) and I get WTTA just fine with no amp and an outdoor antenna.

guys,
all i was saying was that last wednesday, i couldn't get smallville/angel, so watched them IN FINE CLARITY off BHN Cable - yes, I'm one of the ones who gets ALL BHN channels, crystal clear, even the analog ones.
for some reason, i had under 5% signal on the "57s" - as I need to tune 57.3 to get WB - though most other people tune 57.1 or 57.2 (one of those, can't remember which).
tonight, when everything gets fired back up I'll try WB again just for grins and report back to ya.
traditionally, I've received WB allright, but I only check OTA once or twice a week now, so if there was a glitch last week it may be fine now.

ok, on monday night, i had all channels from riverview coming in fine EXCEPT the WB.
total crap signal from them - but pegged on all the others (except UPN was a little weak).

Thanks for the update...I ended up tossing and turning last night because when I tried to watch Las Vegas last night NBC was pixeling out on me every 5 seconds on all three of my antennas......that was a first. Hopefully it was just an anomaly of sorts as my triplets in the attic are all perfectly pointed. Did anyone else experience this last night on the NBC triplets?

DKNOW - why 3 antennas?
I can tell you from experience that the more antennas you have the touchier the signal is...
Even using jointennas is not the best soultion.
I have 1 CM 8 bay pointed at Riverview, and 1 CM 8 Bay pointed at NPR for WTSP
And 1 CM Yagi for ch 8 in Riverview ( if only they would leave VHF I could go down to 2 antennas )

These antennas were added as needed. I have powerlines within 100 yards of me right in the path of the signal to riverview. One antenna is used soley for CBS which is in the opposite direction of the Riverview bank of towers. I haven't combined these antennas. Instead I've run 3 individual lines to the back of my component tower and have a remote RF switch there to switch between antennas. I have a 120" yagi, a 70" Yagi amplified and an 8-bay amplified. The three are necessary to receive every channel but the WB (wimpy broadcast). Believe me, they are necessary. It's one hell of a setup. My girlfriend just loves it when I pull the ladder out and head into the attic for an hour or so.

Guess it all depends on location, tuner, amps, and cableing.
In St. Pete....
1 UHF Yagi to the North with a jointenna allowing only 24 through.
1 VHF/UHF to the East outside the house at about 30 feet off the ground.
1 amp before the Samsung 160.
I get all stations 93-100% and WB-38 at about 20%. Bastards!

Guess I am the lucky stiff in the middle of nowhere who has access to a good LoS for Riverview
