Well - looks like I will have mine in about 2 weeks - as I am fairly high on the list and should be in the 1st or 2nd shipment....

Already waiting for the modders to get ready to add a 2nd 250 gig HD or the new 400 gig HDs

I got my HDTiVo today! It is wonderful! The D* HD Package is now useful. I can't wait until HDNet does a test pattern!

I was hoping all along to be able to walk into Best Buy and pick one up, so I never pre-ordered. Now, I have to have one by yesterday!!!!

Anyone know if there will be any for sale locally? I've heard tales of them being available in some New York and California electronics stores, but no mention of any Circuit City or Best Buys (maybe sound advice?).

I called Circuit City and Best Buy, and neither had any immediate plans for receiving units, at least not according to the reps I spoke with.

I spoke with a friend of mine this afternoon who does High End Installations in LaLa Land, generally to people in the Entertainment Business. His D* supplier in LA is still quoting him June 1 on these - and you have to remember he just had his installation of CSI's Marg Helgenberger featured in a magazine (seems CBS gave her a 50 inch Panasonic Plasma for Xmas).

He has 450 D* receivers installed at MGM off 1 dish - so it's not like this guy doesn't do big volume or installs either. He also said that no one is getting price breaks on these (there's a surprise....not). He has a number of celebrities that want them, so he's waiting like everyone else.

So if you got one, you are doing better than most in Hollywood.

If you really have to have one now, like I told Mike, you better plan on paying a premium and getting it off eBay.
