Ok so I am not so high tech as most of you. I just upgraded to an HDTV Pace box and the BH technician hooked it up using component cables. When I called BH they said it's not woth getting a DVI cable because the signal is getting jammed. Supposedly Pace is having copyright issues and the case is in court. Is it worth getting a DVI cable or should I continue with the component cables?

some people are having problems with it and others aren't...seems to be more of a incompatibility problem with some tv's than a copy protection issue.
it works fine with my RCA hdtv's dvi input....DVI looks identical to component video on my set though so I use the DVI for my htpc.

There is no court case. Many of the HDCP set-top/TV incompatibilities were fixed in the most recent software.

there are other threads about DVI vs component quality.
please check those.
BTW, BHN's official stance is they recommend component over DVI because it always works... not because its better.
From their standpoint, they need to recommend the solution that has fewest problems andc leads to a satisfied customer.
We have proof that DVI looks better on digital TVs like DLP, LCDs, etc. although your mileage may vary because you could have a TV that is not compatible with the way the Pace box handles the DHCP issue.
