For those who thought the entry price to get VOOM was to high, or were waiting to pull the trigger for HBO and Cinimax to be added, its all here.
VOOM recently added a $0 down lease option for the hardware (no contract) and also added HBO and Cinimax channels to their lineup.

For more information on VOOM and local accounts from a few people who have had it (including myself) check out the voom forum http://www.tampahdtv.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=11.

PS. I know there is a VOOM specific section in the forums, but thought some people may not realize that section exists and even more people may not know what VOOM is. Just trying to get a little more discussion in there. :D

Yo Catt - I was glad to hear about this... I went their website and it was "under construction" while they were updating their plans, online ordering, etc.

so, I really haven't seen the details of this deal written down anywhere.
how long do I get to pay off the lease, etc?
what is the upfront cost now?

they say to call them on the phone but i don't really want to talk to anyone. :)

it seems that the "players" are having to reduce those high startup costs to get viewers. the BHN deal has always been attractive cause you don't own anything and don't have a big outlay. with others offering cheap ways to get into HD, it certainly makes it tougher to pick a provider.

PS _ so now we are up to a "3-count" on Voom users - yippee!!! Maybe Ken needs to spread the word about this to his installs!

Jaymer, yeah from what I have heard VOOM's site has been up and down recently with changes in content / ads / etc. The only details from what I have seen is on other forums. Not sure how long you have to lease the equipment, I guess I just assumed as long as your using it. I honestly have never leased equipment or a car so I don't know all the details of it. The upfront cost however is $0.00 from what I understand. I have read however that there is no free preview with it, so as soon as you get it you start paying for monthly subscription to the programming. More info and details can be found here. I know how you feel. I don't really like calling and talking to anyone either if I can get the information I need on the internet.

Yeah, the big "3" ;-). Okay, okay... Well its better than when it was just me. Hopefully others in the area who have VOOM already will venture out and find this site. I personally know 1 person out there who is kinda straddling the fence right now who is on this site. He knows who he is, and hopefully he will join the masses (still currently at 3 at last count) and get VOOM. That is if his wife will let him :-o. As for Ken, I have told him about this site just about every time he has come out to my house.

I just called VOOM and was looking to get VOOM as an add-on to BHN. To get just the HD PAK, it's $39\month for the HD channels and local HD plus $499 for the box OR $9.95\month and no money down for the lease.

Not too bad, now how can I lower my cable bill to make up for the $50\month........
