For the last three weekends that I have had my two pace box's they have had no guide info from friday eve all the way through Saturday night....reboots do not help .....it lists the channels but that is it, no program names or descriptions for a full 24 hours and it has been for the same 24 hours three weeks in a row now.

Is anyone else experienceing this?

My dvr cable box doesn't have this problem and I never had this problem with the old SA hd box I had.

Mine does that also. But when I unplug it for about 3 minutes it comes back. My PVR loses averthing also and I have to reboot it the same way.

I have the same problem: when I click on the guide button, nothing comes up. If I reset the box, the guide comes back.

Also, regarding the earlier problem I was having with the PACE box, I was not getting any HD signal out of the component outputs. It turns out that when I was changing boxes, one of the component leads got loose way at the bottom of the TV where they plug in. This cancelled out the picture completely. I am now back to high-quality HD. The PACE box is really much better than the 3100 because of so many more outputs and inputs. I can now run my DVD component outputs through the box. Since I have only two HD inputs on the TV, this allows three. Another thing I noticed is that I don't lose the HD picture when I turn on the guide or get information.

Just a heads up, the pace box only puts the guide out on the Componenet OUt and not and other input execpt the DVI. It doesnt put the guide or info out on composite or S video out.

I don't think I follow you?...It sounds like your saying you can't use the channel guide if you use the svideo or composite outputs but I know thats not right so could you clarify?

Millerman, I think your wrong. The composite/svideo output does display the guide/info, but the output resolution has to be set at 480i. (its in the manual). So if you have the box hardcoded at 1080i or 720p you won't see the guide on the composite output. I played with this before, and the best solution is to set the pace's resolution to "pass". That way you get the guide because its passing the 480i through , and the HD channels pass through the native HD resolution when you want to watch that via component.

that must be why....I have both my pace boxes set to 480i and get the guide on all of the outputs but on any aspect setting other than pass or 480i I get no guide on the composite and svideo outputs.

I have mine set to "480i" because that lets my tv's better internal scaler do the scaling on the component inputs but still passes the hd signal correctly....if you set it too "pass" it will also work except the scaling will be done by the pace box and in my case it just doesn't do as good a job as my TV's scaler.

cisco, you may be right , if you have tried it and it works that way..cool... I was told it wouldnt but really havent tried it myself

Candyman, I'll have to try 480i instead of pass and see how it looks. Its a weird limitation of that box, though, to make you do that.

actually its a nice feature if you ask me...it allows you to bypass the box's scaler if you have something that will do a better job...and that is pretty much anything....lol

Ah, I think this explains why when I set my box to pass and then access again on a SD signal it says 480p - yes p.

That is really strange - I would expect pass to mean exactly that.
