I have posted before on local HD station time clock problems. This is important to me since I often utilize the Samsung T-165 STB to time shift OTA programs. The T-165 utilizes the local stations time clock to schedule recording sessions.
The culprit this time is NBC Ch 8. The station clock has been an hour fast for quite some time. I first noticed it a couple of weeks ago when I was missing out on some programs I thought I had time shifted.
Two e-mails to the Chief Engineer resulted in one response thanking me for the "heads up" and stating it should be corrected by the "time I read " his e-mail. It wasn't.
Of course, I will probably regret not having checked just before posting this.
I can never remember how to compensate for the error on the station clock when I set the timer. Or I neglect to check the clock.

I have the samsung T-160. How do you check the station time? Maybe the time on mine is synchronized by direcTv?

The T-165 is an OTA tuner only. You tune to an OTA digital station and press the "info" button on the remote. It then displays what the station is "doing" at that time, including the setting of its clock.
I use the T-165 for its firewire output of HD stations to a D-VHS VCR for timer recording.
The T-165 does some other neat things I don't utilize which makes it so expensive.

Would you believe they still haven't corrected that dumb clock? :?

Cheer up! In just a few weeks we'll be back on DST, and then their clock will be "right" again. I wonder if they have to hook up a computer to their psip device and go through some complicated procedures to re-set the clock? When clocks are set up, on many machines you have an option for DST. Seem like if it was a simple thing they would have allready done it.
Maybe we can set up a station tour to get this straightened out? (if you want something done right.....you've got to do it yourself.........)

well floyd, this is a double edged sword.
on the one hand, we could carry around a drink like Bryan was doing at the UPN 44 tour.
if we "dropped" it into the PSIP box, then they'd have no choice but to get in there and reset the clock.
... but then we have to remember that the reason they don't show Star Trek in HD on saturdays (the replay) is because Bryan was also stuffing gummy bears into the tape slot on the HD recorder, and they haven't had the budget to repace that box, since the gummy bears liquified over the weekend and oozed into the circuit board and fried it.
so.... while we may fix one problem, with our luck Bryan will break the one piece of equipment they need to get NBC on BHN cable and then where would be be?

The Chief Engineer for NBC Tampa has e-mailed me to state that the computer clock should be correct and he asked me where I was getting the clock. I responded at length.
I will keep you all posted on this fascinating saga. :)
