I honestly can't wait until Verizon offers Fios and TV service here (southern Manatee) as i'll be more than happy to deal with another provider after all the trouble we've been having w/ Brighthouse... Maybe its just me, but for $140/month, i expect more consistent service.

#1. Constant Macroblocking and lost HD signals. We've had a tech out here at LEAST 8-10 times in the past 6 months working on our horrific signal. Everytime, they tell me its a "hot box" in the neighborhood so they go out, replace it and retweak the signals. Usually less than 2 weeks later, the signal goes to crap again. My tuner 1 db level (which is supposed to be < +8db according to the tech), ranges from +13db to +15db.
#2. In conjunction w/ #1, their HD feed from NBC is constantly macroblocking and dropping out. It also seems to switch back and forth between HD and SD endlessly. Last night, in a one hour span, it switched 3-4 times between the HD and SD feed. Called my friend about 5 miles away and he reported the same issues (macroblocking, dropping out, switching from HD to SD). We've been trying to watch some recorded coverage of the Olympics on our SA8300HD and last nights coverage was horrendous. Literally half of the pairs figure skating was unwatchable.
#3. Appointments. Everytime i call now, they never give me a decent appt window. Its always 8-8 or 8-5 and they will call 30 mins beforehand. Sorry BH, but i can't spend ALL DAY waiting for you. AND, the last two times, they called when they were all of 5 minutes from my house, not 30, so i wasn't able to make it home in time. If i do infact want a 4 hour window appointment, i have to wait over 1.5 - 2 weeks.
#4. Phone. Maybe its a coincidence but it seems that as soon as the service goes downhill, all i get when i call 748-1822 (Manatee BH) is a busy signal. Get the same from my Cell and the POTS houseline.
#5. Problems with SA 8300HD DVR. Maybe its just my bad luck with this, but the SA 8300HD DVR seems to go on the fritz all too often. Either it dosent record programs programmed, it records them and they never show up on the list, or other random things happen. Sometimes, the List wont even show up when we try to navigate to it, pressing List on the remote flashes the screen and nothing shows up. We've gone through 3 boxes in the year we've had it, and all 3 had problems. Definately not user error either, as programs set to record still show up in the recording schedule, even after the date has passed and it missed the recording.

At this point, i don't know what to do. The fact that i have 748-1822 memorized is a testament in and of itself of how much we've had problems with them.
