The update fixed the DVI problem on my Sony 30XBR910. It occasionally will show a brief screen with "Lost HDCP Connection..." when first connecting to DVI but it looks like it now retries the connection and I haven't had a problem yet.

That is great to hear... It is my understanding that the softload from 2/12/04 will help out Sony and Samsung TVs as I find out more about other TV I will post here..

After downloading a recent update to my cable box (Feb 13th). My DVI port is working on my Samsung DLP HLN4365W. Before the update I was getting a message about my DVI port not being HDCP compatible. Lou from Bright House technical support helped me resolve this issue.

Great news! My Samsung HLN437W has not had the DVI signal loss since the software update! Now if they could just fix the audio drop/pixellation issue.

even after rebooting the box just now, my HLN437W still is giving me the 'your TV does not support HDCP, use the component connections' error! i'm guessing the update was local to you Tampa guys (i live in TX but am following this issue here), so i can only wait anxiously for a local remedy. :(

I'll post my comments in this post since the sticky seems to be an argument between Jaymer and Bdraw . . . .

By the way, that post has some good info on the pace box menus and commands. Perhaps we could pull some of that and make/insert it into a sticky thread.

The update enabled my HLN to work via DVI.

HOWEVER, I have a weird problem. The screen size is a couple of inces narrower than through component. I have the box set on 720 and the TV set on TV Wide. Doesn't make any difference if box is set to 4:3 or 16:9.

I don't believe I had this problem before. Picture doesn't seem to be compressed or anything - which is in itself strange if narrower. I'd do an a/b test but whenever I switch between component and DVI I still get the HDCP message - then it flicks off and on comes the picture.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have Tampa BHN, in Hernando County, since the update my connection to DVI, on my Dwin projector is good, no problems. My probem is with the
component connection. I get the message, Your TV is not HDCP compatible
and have to wait for a connection, less than a minute. The channels with
the problem are below 100 channels. Seems to be a split in the picture that sometimes move. Only happens on the channels below 100. When I
switch to S-video it disappears. Over 100 it is ok. Does this mean I have to
switch to S-video below 100?.

 ALL is well here in Tampa near the Citrus Park Mall..... I would not allow some Pix problem nor audio prob. get me upset. Again if its broken then get it FIXED. I have a great picture view HD, Dig, Analog chan and all is well....however when it was not working I simply called and BH came to my house and fixed the prob....

If my card had problem I would also get it fixed..... Not go out and get a new car..

I finally got around to switching back to the 4x1 Geffen dvi switch today (Greg Loewen was here this afternoon to callibrate my DLP set), and the Pace box seemed to handle the switch just fine. No hard reboot needed, and I can switch the input away from the pace box to the dvd player and back, and the box reaquires the hdcp protocol just fine.

Now, if only hdsho would work better, but it was also bad using component out.

Just curious - does anyone else with a Samsung DLP have any display issues when using DVI to watch SD cable?

I get black verticle lines on the sides of the picture of varying width. They seem to be different on different days. Is this some pace/sammy incompatability or is it something else?

DVI problems persist! I'm in Orlando, and have a brand new Pace 550 and a Samsung HLN5065W. Here's what I see:
1) Switch from comp to DVI => "Display not HDCP" message.
2) Switch BACK to comp => Still get message until reboot
3) Pull DVI cable trick => Works until TV turned off/on, then same as 1)
4) Power cycle 550 w/ ONLY DVI cable and TV on => Works for several hours, even through TV power cycle. Then BLAM!
5) When DVI is working => HD good except DiscoveryHD has wide black bands on side 90% of the time (no other channel does this).
6) When DVI is working => channel switching causes annoying snow flash 2 or 3 seconds after the change.

Well, that about sums it up. Many of you have reported similar issues in the past, but it seems that Tampa has cleared up its problems already.

The latest Pace firmware (installed on March17) has finally fixed all of my DVI issues. Picture looks FANTASTIC in HD and SD!

I still encounter a horrible audio/video sync problem using the DVI connection with my Samsung HLN437W. Am I the only one?
