Hey gang,

We just closed on a new house in St. Pete, built in 1924. We're coming from a brand new house, built in 2002, and I think the wiring is going to be a lot different and I was just trying to get a grasp on it.

Right now everything is wired via home run. Cable coax comes into the house to the panel. I split it, and one run goes to the cable modem. From there to my VoIP adapter and router. Then the VoIP is distributed to all phone lines in the house, and the internet signal also is distrubuted. Same with the TV signal, through a nice amplifier, and then out to each outlet.

But I'm just unsure of how the wiring is set up in these older homes. Is everything run in series usually? Will BNH just come and turn on the signal, and then every exasting cable outlet in the house will be working? And do you know how VoIP works in a house like that?

Thanks for any advice/comments/suggestions you may have.
