The HD Free Preview is great.
Does anyone know if the addition of HDnet and HDNet Movies will increase the price of the HDPak? or will it stay at $6.00?
I'll be tempted to pick up the 4 HD channels for $6.00.

I'm pretty sure its staying at $6
Thats one of the things they were saying when INHD forst came out... some thought it was high for only 2 channels, but that more were coming to be added to the tier.

Thus far I have not been impressed with the content I have seen on the HD preview channels. I feel these channels should be added with no additional cost. I think the only HD channel I would pay to have added to my subscription would be ESPN HD if it were available. I did get a chance to watch a hockey game in HD on one of the preview channels which was nice, but I am not much of a hockey fan.
Discovery HD by far is still the benchmark for HD production and content. Does anyone have any idea as to when BHN will be adding NBC HD to their programming?

Did anyone else get an automated phone call today (or recently) from BHN about this? I did. That was at least nice of them, despite the fact that because of this site I already knew. But I'm sure a lot of folks with HD service didn't know about it.

Yeah I got that call, they are really pushing this HD free preview, I am glad to see that they are putting these kinds of resources towards promoting HD.

I have looked at these channels a couple of times over the last few days and not seen anything that got me excited. Some old, not very good movies in HD and a lot of pretty obscure other stuff. I certainly would not sign up unless I had an HD recorder and it appears from some other threads that the HD recorder is not going to happen soon. So they will have to get by without my $6 bucks.

well, "looking" at the channels a few times isn't enough to base an opinion on, IMHO.
if you'd spend some time going to the websites to see whats offered each month, then I think anyone would be hard-pressed NOT to enjoy a few programs on there for a measly $6/month.
as I stated back in Dec., just seeing the Lynard Skynard concert was enough to make me happy buying it.
since then, there's been a few shows on INHD1 that have been worth it... and HDNet is a lot more mature, so its got cooler stuff - although a much wider range of programming. I think they realized that people don't want the same crap over and over and over... which is why they've branched out into original music shows, CES coverage, HDNet World Report, and rebroadcasts of older shows.
which is why you need to scan the guide and plan to see something coming on during the month.
DiscHD really stinks, I think, and I said that months ago after having it a month or so. Way too much repeat of the same stuff. I don't see why they are so "superior"... they are just buying content that is several years old (just look at the production dates at the end of many of the shows) and broadcasting it... how does that make them "the benchmark for HD production and content"???
Uh, if the amount of pixelation I saw while trying to watch the Heart concert was indicative of BH's "HD Tier", they can keep it. It's not worth an extra $2/mo IMO, much less the $6 they're asking  I couldn't even watch the concert it was so bad.

i think you need to contact BHN tomorrow and tell them about this... because this is NOT the norm.
if you don't believe that, then no one can help you.
if you are willing to accept that, then you only have better viewing to look forward to. the peter gabriel concert was fantastic visually.
in fact, as soon as Alias ended, I caught the end of a high-motion featurette that came on after "Over Arizona" (on one of the 4 HD tier channels - unsure of which one).
i only saw 3 minutes of it - and it was dated 1994, made in japan.
it was like Koyaanisqatsi, except more modern and in HD.
so, tons of motion and not ONE artifact/motion blur/blocking anomaly.
its important to know where you live - please update your profile so its easier to determine which BHN office you are served by.

I watched the NBA All-Star game last night on IndHD and noticed quite a few instances of pixelation. I have very good signal strength and never see pixelation except on PBS-HD.
Granted, basketball is not the greatest product for HDTV, but I wasn't concerned with that. I was more perplexed by the pixelation. They want $6/month for that? I was considering getting the HD Tier, but now am rethinking it. :?

Thanks Jaymer, I updated my profile. Other than the main Customer Service line, is there a specific phone number to call to reach someone at BHN for specific HD issues/questions?
