Frank DeTillio has been hired by UPN station WTOG-Ch. 44 as its new vice president and general manager, a Viacom Television Stations Group official announced Thursday. A 33-year veteran of television and radio, DeTillio returns to familiar territory. He served as vice president/general manager of WFLA-Ch. 8 from 1986 to 1991. DeTillio will oversee all operations at WTOG and succeed Mike Conway, who retires in February.

His most recent position was vice president/general manager of WBMA-TV in Birmingham, Ala. DeTillio also co-owned a Spanish language radio station, WQBN, in Tampa for several years after leaving WFLA.

"I'm extremely excited to be joining the Viacom Television Stations Group family," DeTillio said. "This group has achieved so much momentum over the last few years, and I'm especially excited about working with UPN, which is in the midst of a creative renaissance."
