As I understand it, the WB is broadcasting a digital signal on 38.1. Is anyone able to receive the signal? Is there a signal?
From the antennaweb.org, it says that I need a medium multi-directional antenna to pick up WB and a medium directional antenna to pick up CBS. I can pick up CBS fine along with ABC, NBC (which both have the same compass orientation and distance as WB), and FOX but can only see the analog version of WB38.
I am using a RCA DTC-100 with a Silver Sensor. I live on the third floor of an apartment complex at the corner of 301 and the crosstown. I also have a TERK TV55 antenna that I can try if that will help me pick up the digital signal from the WB.

I wont be able to try again until Wed night when I tune in for Angel... but can let you know if you are still having trouble. Was up fine last Wed.
I use 57.3 for WB

My DTC-100 won't allow me to "manually" tune a channel. It first has to recognize the channel thru a channel search. I can't pick up 57.1 but never tried 57.3. I will let you know if that works out some how.
Thanks Jaymer!
OK, so I tune into 57.3 and BAM! There it is. How good does the WB Original Programing look? It's not HD yet is it?
Thanks again!

Well, I saw several eps of Smallville in November in HD.
Looked nice.
Haven't seen any others.
I tune to the digital channel still because its much better than the cable signal (although I get great cable signals and don't understand why so many people complain about bad picture quality from BHN.)
Our station is waiting on equipment - who knows when they will finally do it. I even called HQ and talked with the head engineer in charge a few months ago who assured me that by Nov they would have had equipment... then they changed their tune.
Maybe by next season...

I still can't figure out why you get WB on 57.3 and for the rest of us we get it on 57.1 !

I'm getting WB on 38-1 on my Samsung T-160. Meter says 69-77%.

I'm getting it on 38-1 at around 20% on a Samsung 160. I live in NE St. Pete which explains the low power reading. What's funny is I can pull in some of the Orlando digital signals better than 38. And answer me this... WTTA is "licensed" to St. Petersburg is it not? Just like every other TV and radio station, despite where their physical studios or control room is, they are required to put a decent signal into their city of license. I believe WTTA is obviously not doing this with their HD signal.

Let me clarify my statement... WB is licensed for 57 so most see the signal as 57.1. However they, like all the other stations, virtually map to 38.1. My E-86 box sees both.
Jaymer and a few select others see WB on 57.3.

POZER: What channels from Orlando do you get? and what kind of antenna do you have? I get a crap signal from WB and I'm right here by the antennas.
My biggest confusion arises from this... on numerous occasions, WB will lose signal ONLY during the commercials. Thats right... watch Angel, everything fine, and then as soon as the commercial hits (or seconds before it comes on), whammo, loss of signal, blocking, etc. I know thats a good thing in a way to not have to watch the commercials, but as many times as I've seen it, its just too freaky to be a coincidence.

Ok cool....
I have a Channelmaster VHF/UHF (the largest one from Lowes, don't know the model number) on a pole 35 feet above ground pointed east. I've also got a UHF only Yagi pointed north at about 28 feet. They're combined with a jointenna (24) and then the single coax runs through a Radio Shack amp then splitter to the FM stereo, VCR, and the Samsung T-160. Before I installed the jointenna, I had real problems getting 38 at all and 44 seemed to have some big multicast problems. 44 is ok now but as I said, I still get 38 at about 20% no matter what. Every other station in the Tampa Bay area is solid. As far as Orlando goes, on good weather days when DXing is possible, digital WB 18 (WKCF) seems to be the easiest to get... followed by 9 (WFTV) and 6 (WKMG). I don't get these stations all the time, but noted that one day I had a stronger signal on WB 18 over WB 38! It might be that KCF's digital signal is on 17 and not as high on the dial as 57. Just guessing.
I have a clarification as well...
Most viewers and listeners don't ever realize this, but in the broadcast industry every station is licensed to a city. In the old days, that stations was supposed to serve that city first and formost. However, in today's media landscape, "city of license" is merely an FCC identification. Unfortunate sometimes, but true. Ever notice WMOR's graphic and how it says "WMOR-TV Lakeland/Tampa/St. Petersburg"? That used to mean that WMOR had to put a useable signal into Lakeland to be considered "legal" with the FCC. This is the argument (although a weak one... pun intended) that I'm making against WTTA. They are WTTA-TV St. Petersburg/Tampa... and not the other way around. As a St. Petersburg resident and viewer, I demand an increase in power (ha ha ha)! But according to the FCC web site and the official information on WTTA, the FCC has authorized them to operate at a lower power for at least the time being. Why? I just don't know. COME ON 38!! POWER UP PLEASE!!!

was really annoying tonight during Angel.
i don't mind the amber alert for that missing 11yr old girl, but when they would bring on that blip across the bottom, i would lose signal until it was removed.
happened twice EXACTLY when they brought on the announcement.
VERY annoying.
would still get more signal breakup during the commercials, than during Angel - same ol routine.
