SA8300HD Not recording some show's

I have had this box for awhile now with not to much trouble until latley. The problem is that some shows will not record at all like Boston Legal and Invasion in HD. When I go to the channel that invasion is on I see the red rec symbol on the screen but the red light on the box is not on. If I go to the list I see it there in red but once it is over there is nothing there. I called brighthouse last week and they had no clue at all. has anyone ran into this problem before? A friend of mine also had a problem like this and they gave her a new box and she still has the proble. Any info would be appreciated.

make sure a recording of the show in question was not missed at a earlier date...I have that happen sometimes and have to remove the scheduled resording that was missed before it will record that show again.

I've had it happen a couple of times and I ended up reformatting the hard drive. That always seems to cure any problems I have. Another example is when I put the guide on the screen, the top right corner where the program is showing was skipping but it wouldnt do it any other time.

To reformat your hard drive:
Press and hold PAUSE on your remote until Mail icon on the STB is lit. Press PAGE down or (-), and then press LIST three times. The display will say HFF or something like that. I believe it will start to format the drive, if not power it down then turn it back on and it will start.

Last time I did it, the guide didnt populate and I had to unplug the stb and plug it in again. I waited overnight to see if the info downloaded which it didnt.

Thanks all for the help. I hate to reformat there's a few movies my little one loves on there but if I have to I will. I defrag it last week per the tech and I thought it worked because Jay Leno wouldn't record anymore and after I did that it worked. I don't understand why it's picking on just some shows and not all. I did reset it before Invasion came on and it still skipped it.Thank's again for the help.
