I'm running a RatShack antenna (UHF/VHF, about 6' long, don't have the model number handy) in my attic and into a Sony SAT-HD100. I'm located in NW Tampa (near Hillsborough & Sheldon). I'm getting OK reception after just eyeballing the antenna install but would like to fine tune it. Is there an inexpensive signal strength meter that I can use to tweak this thing while in the attic?

Thanks,

BruceM3...

Haven't heard of such a thing. I take a walkie-talkie up there and have my 12-yr. old tell me the signal strength as I move it (mine is on the roof). Make sure you remove your hand when you guage the strength; your hand becomes part of the antenna when touching.

In the electronics field, we use spectrum analyzers that show the entire RF spectrum at one time. Really cool. They go about $20k, used.
