I currently have a Harmony 880. I have had it for several years and mostly it worked well. I liked the Activities concept and it worked for the most part. Although programming it with the wonky software did take several iterations of trial and error.

However, a while ago it got dropped in Soda and the buttons became mushy, then the left on the 4-way stopped working well, you have to really push it hard. Recently the bulging battery (which yes I should have replaced long ago) broke the battery compartment cover.

Long story short, I want to replace it. I was considering the Harmony One which seems similar to the 880. the Harmony 1100 looks nice but not sure if it is worth the extra price.

Any recos are welcome. I would like to not spend much more than $200, but might for the right remote.

thanks,
BOb

I remember having the same reaction when I first heard someone paid $100 for a remote. Then I read up on them and bought my first 520 for $75. It is by far the best investment I have ever made and my most valuable piece of audio/video equipment!

I ended up getting the Harmony One.... It was about $150 and I think it is well worth it... I use it every day and it should last for years and can be re-programmed as/if I get new equipment.
