Any body using any external video scalers ?

Not the built in aspect ratio formats found in many TV's or STB ect.

I have been doing some research and the Faroudja seem to be the top of the line and I am familar with the company as a High End product but I can not get myself to shell out the $3500 for their units.

As we all know the built in aspect format converters have much to be desired and I would like to find a video scaler that will make the 4:3, the various DVD formats look better a more realistic on my Hitachi 50V500 16:9 screen (FULL FIELD) after all pay for the size would like to use the entire screen.

Hoping someone else is using some of the other manuf. of a little lower end on the price scale.

If you are computer savy, I would suggest looking into the Holo3 Card.

If you have a HTPC you can use Dscaler...Dscaler does as good a job deinterlacing video as the best hardware scalers on the market and it's totaly free....drawback is you have to turn on your computer to use it and whatever you spend on the htpc if you don't already have one.

You are correct about Dscaler being a great product, but most people use this card for their input. Most computer TV capture or input's just aren't that good. I would suggest using the Holo3 and dscaler togeather.
