No such box (to my knowledge). The latest S/A high def offering is the 3250, which pales in comparison to the features on the Pace 550HD. We tested them side by side, and chose Pace for a reason.

any news on the hd capable SA DVR box, gmc?

Do they let customers "beta test" stuff like that to work out the bugs?

In the Tampa area what HD STBs does BHN offer?? I currently have the SA3100HD. The SA3150HD is offered by TW in other areas and SA is coming out with the newer HD PVR also. Just looking for an improved HD STB if available. Thanks.

Candyman,

S/A is telling us February-March timeframe, but we've learned to believe these things when they're in our hands, and not before. We have done limited trials with customers in the past, and we'll have to see how the operations want to handle this.

Ckirksey,

Nearly all TWC divisions deployed 3100HD's (largely because they were the only production box available in quantity at the time that would do HD). S/A has sold some variants of the 3100, specifically the 3170 which was the Cox cable version that sold at retail (didn't work out very well). SA's model number scheme indicates that anything 31XX is essestially the same box. The next generation of non-DVR HD boxes is the 3250. And the Pace 550HD is a much more capable box.

The Tampa division was doing some swap's at one point. Call your local office and ask to come in and swap your 3100 for a 550HD at the front counter. If you don't think you're up to the wiring task, they'll likely be willing to send a tech to do the swap, but will probably charge you an installation fee.
