Are BHN HD channnels scrambled?

Hello All,

I am getting a hit 51s700 delivered tomorrow. I was wondering wether or not I will need a stb for it to recieve hd content? The s700 has an intergrated OTA and Cable tuner. But the cable tuner only works if it is not scrambled.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow but why wait til then. :) When I can ask here now!

cool, you will need to get a HDTV settop from BHN.. No other choice...you will also have to subscribe to the digital tier.

Actually BHN does not scramble their HD locals. I have a mitsu with integrated QAM tuner, and I am able to watch the HD locals without the STB. But Since I have like to watch DiscoveryHD, SHOHD, and HBOHD, I used the Pace set top box.

I went ahead and picked up the Pace STB. I didn't even bother trying the built in tuner. All I can say about Discovery HD is WOW!
