Interesting announcment that the UPN and WB networks will merge into one network this fall and be called CW

Interesting to see CBS and Timner Warner going to be 0-50 partners, will see how long that lasts.

As long as I still get to see my Star Trek on UPN, wait.... thats gone. What do I watch on UPN again????

I would be happy if the WB content moved to 44 at night.

Our UPN affiliate is owned by CBS and our WB affiliate is owned by Sinclair.
The article says the 16 top markets will use their, owned affiliates.

So good bye WB 38, we will not mis sinclair.
I wonder what will become of them? I don't care as long as we don't have to wait for their power upgrade to watch WB shows in HD!

Ohh how sad for 38-1, they have been so good to us. NOT!

I just emailed 38 to ask what is to become of them.

I'll email 44 also and ask them too.

...It's too early to tell which programs will survive because the deal was announced only Tuesday. Chances are the strongest will return in the fall.

...CBS-owned station WTOG, Channel 44, will carry the new network, The CW.

That means WTTA, Channel 38, will no longer have WB programs and will have to scramble to fill its prime time schedule...

BYE BYE 38.....
starts singing.....

We've only just begun.......... to live.

Here is what they sent me.

WTTA will continue. As it appears now, we will _not_ carry the new network, but WTOG will. (Although these things can change) Because this news wasn't known by anyone until yesterday, a lot of review and discussions need to happen to determine the final course of action.

WTTA will most likely become an "independent" station and will now be free to carry any available programming. What that programming will be will depend on what is decided at the Sinclair Broadcast Corporate level. Sinclair has 60 stations nationwide, with about 25% being UPN or WB. So they have to deal with both sides of the issue.

We should have a better idea in a couple months. But, we'll still be here, and hopefully with a line-up for Fall 2006 that the viewers in this area will want to see.

PS -- We will be going to full power DTV next month! The suppliers are working to schedule the actual dates now.

They should use to their advantage their HD broadcasting equipment and become an over the air HDNet Movies type deal. That is a niche that is yet to be filled. Show the cheap films that 32 does but in HD. I'd be suckered into watching a few for sure.

I'll bet ch 38 becomes yet another spanish language station. Today, while picking up a prescription in the Carrollwood walmart I noticed that the in-store announcements were blaring out in spanish.
