I have BHN's 15 MB Turbo service and am paying $57.18 for it... What are others paying for similar service? Any tips when talking to their customer retention team? Thanks

That's pretty similar to what I pay for FiOS 20/5 service... granted it is part of a bundle. I will be dropping the TV service pretty soon and going with their 25/25 service that is $65/mo (not sure if I can get a lower price if I make a 1 or 2 year commitment.)
Or I will bundle it with Digital Voice phone service which will actually have me paying about $14 more per month... but currently I only have the most basic phone service. So, digital voice would add long distance, caller id, call waiting, conferencing, forwarding, SMS notifys, etc.

advice is tell them youre cxling b/c way better offer from whoever and
have your numbers ready to give so they know what they have to do
to keep you. 2 years ago i got lucky and got 2 premiums no charge for
1 year and hd pack no charge for 2 years which was great until now.
i would have kept hd pack if they would have kept hd net and hd net
movie channels.
i would go with verizon now since no more early cxl fee but i was told
by someone here that their hd dvr's do not support eSATA dvr expanders.
bhn does have the brand new lightning internet with i think up to 30mb
speed. i have been told also that bhn internet is more consistent than
fios b/c with fios it depends how far away you live from node and how many
people are using it. bhn road runner internt is set up differently so you
dont have that same problem.

I just looked at my bill, I have Verizon FiOS triple Play:
The Phone is $30.00, for unlimited LD, caller id on TV, phone and computer, voice mail and a bunch of features I never use. It’s not digital or VoIP, just works all the time perfectly. I think it’s POTS over the fiber.
35/35 Internet $39.99 which is consistently 33-34+ all the time when I check.
FiOS Ultimate HD, the best package which even includes Showtime, NFL Redzone, the HDNet channels..etc. Full channel guide is on-line. $70.00
For a total of $139.99
I get a $30 per month valued customer discount off that and then I added DVR, STB, rentals, Taxes…etc. No contract.
So BHN is charging $57.18 for 15mb? That’s a rip and it’s your local BHN that’s over charging. I work with someone up in Ohio who pays $35.99 for 15/2 Roadrunner.

The lightning internet is 40MB (which I doubt you’ll see very often) and I don’t know who told you BHN internet is more consistent than FiOS, a BHN employee? FiOS has fiber from the CO directly to the side of your house, it doesn’t matter what the distance is (this is not DSL in which distance does make a difference). You have your own connection which is not shared with your neighbors on the same node as BHN does. With Roadrunner I remember watching my internet speeds go to crap within minutes after the kids on the block got home from school. No such issues with FiOS.
I can walk around my community and see all the ONTs mounted on the side of the houses. We’ve always gotten BHN TV as part of our association fees and from my count over 65% pay the extra money for some form of FiOS when they get BHN included for free. That’s a pretty big testament in this economy…

Are you sure it is not Digital Voice phone service?
So, is $139 your bottom line bill?

I have a virtual office account with RR and it runs me $105/month. I get 20/2 and priority tech support. Best of all a static IP for web services and other things I need a static IP for. So yeah, I pay about double for a little higher priority and reliability but I work largely out of my home. I am not complaining. In fact, if I could get FIOS I would have Internet with both. I use a dualWAN router in that scenerio. If one is down the Net is still up on the other and it load balances. But.... no FIOS where I live. Fortunately RR has only had maybe 1 outage in almost one year since I lived here. My old house had outages all the time and getting FIOS for a second Internet service solved most of the problems (webserver was still down when RR was down due to static IP addressing).
This topic reminds me of my 13 year old the other day. He said shockingly, "you have to pay for Internet?" hahahaha

What region are you in and is that the only BHN service you have?
