Greetings,

Is this also the place to talk about local deals and availability for RPTV sets and other equipment? Looking into getting an HDTV-ready set here and haven't had too much luck with actually seeing any units (such as Sammy HLN507W/567W, or the new Panasonic, Sony, and RCA sets). Any pointers for buyers?

I saw something at Techbargains today where both J&R and Circuit City have the Samsung 151 STB for $299. Not a HUGE big deal, but maybe better than nothing.

The Sound Advice on Fowler is slated to get 208 HLN567w's in on 8/27. No one has them on display because they sell as fast as they come in. If you want one you need to go to SA and pay in full to be guarantied a unit on deliv. They will discount the 567 to $3899 if you take the extended four year service contract out for $350...it's worth it as it also covers the bulb for a total of 5 years.
