Antenna Installer recos...

Hi...

After getting yet another price increase from FiOS TV I have pretty much decided to move to OTA...

However, I need a knowledgeable Antenna installer. The only place I found online charges a flat $350 for antenna and install. That seemed a bit steep to me since the correct antennas for me seem to be about $70 or so.

It's not really an install I want to do myself. I could hire a handy man to do it, but I'm not sure if he would really be knowledgeable enough.

Thurstons TV in Zephyrhills does installations; they are on Highway 54 just west of Z'hills. They also sell components to the public like the masts and such. I bought a 30 foot telescoping antenna mast from them. Only local dealer I know of that sells the telescoping masts. Anyway they are probably in the phone book. I found out about them on an internet search.

I can get the 20' or 30' telescoping masts for anyone who wants to come and pick it up in North Tampa at my house. Other installation parts are also available. Advice is free.
I like the telescoping masts, since you can easily lower them down for testing or service on the antennas. If you live in a windy location, the 30' model has rings to connect to support wires to prevent it from swaying/bending in a windstorm. This is usually only necessary if you have larger/heavier antennas or a rotor.

I figured I would bump this instead of starting another thread. I am also looking for an installer. I would love to add OTA to my mix. I am clueless when it comes to these things.

Well... after putting it off for quite a while... I finally had an antenna I had bought a while ago installed. I found a guy on Angie's list... Kevin from Antenna Connection Inc. He took a lot of time to make sure it was right and I was happy.

The number is 727-588-9126. He was here for quite a while making sure it was right and trying various locations and options. Give him a call.
