WTVT (Fox) Audio Dropouts

While watching today's Fox widescreen broadcast of the football game, I was getting frequent audio dropouts, while no problems with video or signal strength. This has happened to me often times on this station. Wonder if anyone else is experiencing audio dropouts on WTVT-DT.

Not sure if it's the signal source or my equipment. I'm using a Sony HD200 receiver and an attic mounted VHF/UHF antenna.

Curious if my problems are unique.

Audio drop outs with OTA has been a big issue and widely reported. Oddly though the Sony HD200 is one of the only STB's usually not effected. The HD300 is a big problem with this. VHF channels seem to be the most effected (FOX is VHF) then come the lower # UHF channels. The higher the # channel the less the issue. The drops usually occur when something in your home is switched on or off...ex...AC unit. micro, fans...and so on. Go to AVSForum.com and look in the hardware forum, it is very well documented.

I know about turning lights or fans on or off, or the fridge compressor or A/C turning on or off. The situation(s) I was describing was when none of these occured. It's annoying, but glad that it's not just me.

Baja - I tried the HD300, and quickly returned it, since its OTA performance was substantially worse than the HD200.

Brian - what is your OTA receiver?

BTW-of the digital stations I watch, 13.1 is the most noticeable. I rarely watch any NBC material on 8.1 because in Sarasota, their signal is inferior to receiver 20.1 (Ft. Myers) off the back of my attic antenna.

I have the Hughes E86. I rarely get any audio dropouts and when they do occur the station I am watching usually has the problem.

The E86 is very basic and doesn't have dvi or anything special but for 399 its a great little box. At least for me it is.
