Dish Network makes promises they can't keep especially on HD broadcasts for Rays. If you have Dish you WILL NOT get all 150 games in high-def. Three games on the recent road trip were in SD when Fios, BHN and DTV showed them in HD.

Dish' excuse? Not enough bandwidth, especially during NBA and NHL playoffs. That doesn't even include the 24x7 RSNs that are NEVER on unless there is a game.

I contacted someone I know at FS Florida and the Dish bandwidth issue was confirmed. Sadly, there isn't much they can do at this point.

For those who are considering switching to Dish, especially sports fans - DON'T. Their claims about HD availability are bogus, their customer service is "let me check with someone who knows," and while their hardware has a lot of good points it doesn't cover the fact their overall service sucks.

The CEO of Dish seems to have a particular nit with MLB (no MLB Network / MLBEI) because the HD issue always seems to land squarely on the backs of baseball fans.

Like I said in the other thread, if you are an MLB fan, Dish is not the way to go.

This new issue Roger brings up is like a sin for us HD fanatics but they are simply horrible on MLB all-around.

They do not have MLB Network or Extra Innings in SD or HD.

In addition, they do not have YES Network which is great for a Yankees fan even with no games available to us.

Direct TV tells a lot of lies but so does Dish. What Roger has had to go through is unacceptable.

Point Blank: If your an MLB fan, do not jump to Dish and if you have it, dump it.

HDO, when I signed up with Dish last year I was led to believe that they would have MLB Network by this spring. They did not and I inquired why. I was told "we cannot guarantee programming" which is understandable, however, I spoke to a couple of other Dish customers who were told the exact same thing I was and they never delivered.

I believe lying takes on a whole new meaning with Dish (I also had DTV) especially when it comes to RSNs not being in HD when a lot of them are 24x7 HD. At least DTV sent up a new satellite to increase their HD capacity and will be adding a boatload of new stations over the next month or so but even when I was with them a couple of years back, any RSN in HD was broadcast in HD with only live pro games blacked out.

Dish has no immediate plans to expand on their HD services because of the bandwidth issues.

I have been trying to get out of my deal with Dish for some time because the simple fact is I am a sports fan with HDTVs in every room and I cannot get the programming they allege is there for me to watch. There was no disclaimer saying these channels were "part-time" when I signed up and was unaware of this policy until after I was already signed on the dotted line.

You are correct HDO, if you are a sports fan, especially baseball, AVOID DISH LIKE THE PLAGUE. They are frauds and even when you point out to them that they do not deliver the services promised they tell you "a contract is a contract is a contract."

To save a few bucks I screwed myself. I will take DTV over anyone and as soon as I can get out of my Dish deal you know where I am headed.

Direct TV's commercials make them look more like frauds but the truth is they are definitely better than Dish Network.

They both jack up their HD numbers. Dish Network seems to get into these ticky tack disputes and not having the RSN's in HD makes them look cheap.

How they implied that MLB Network would be available is a load of crap and simply bad business practice.

Direct TV has gotten a lot of heat lately but Dish Network is going to be the one that starts taking it more especially with DTV's new HD channels.

Dish Network is only for people who hate sports and want to save a buck.

I have 3 choices in my area and hopefully a 4th in ATT U-Verse down the line.

While Bright House works best for me, if I ever got a second provider, Dish Network is way behind Direct TV and U-Verse for me on that option.

Give them hell Roger if they do not let you out of your deal. In addition, if they do not, start a website or an online movement to expose Dish Network for being bad for sports fans.

All sports fans need to dump Dish Network.

Dish will not have MLB for YEARS.....and I don't mean 1, 2 or 3 etc.

They CAN'T even if they had 100 Satellites.

Why didn't you ask online before you believed that lie?

The MLB Extra Innings dispute with Dish Network has been going since the end of the 2006 season.

Supposedly, they are not even on speaking terms with Major League Baseball.

SRI is right in saying this possibily will not happen for years.

It's not a dispute - its ownership.

Dish was given the opportunity to invest and guarantee money for the MLB Channel and EI as DirecTV and several cable companies through InDemand did. Dish chose not to - thus they will not have MLB.
