Hi got a new (used) 38inch HD rear projection for a 2nd room.
While i'm fiddling around with my radio shack double bow tie (RSDBT), I pull on the antenna while relocating it and my leads seperate from where I twisted them to a balun... and the signal never flickers. I'm standing here in the room holding my antenna and say to the wife "uhh, whats wrong with this picture?"
I had a OTA tuner (an older mitsubishi Directv/OTA box), with a 4 foot piece of coax, a balun to get it to twin lead, and just twisted those leads to the twinlead thats preinstalled on the RSDBT (you are supposed to drill out the twinlead that comes with the RSDBT and connect the balun directly to it with screws, but i have not gotten that fer yet on this antenna).
So, I'm close enough to the Riverview farm that I get PBS, NBC, ABC, and 44, WITHOUT an official antenna, just a coax with a balun stuck on it
BTW, I can confirm for others that a RSDBT will get CBS with no problem from all the way down here. Mine was just sitting on top of the TV and is succeptable to the loss of signal if someone is walking around it. For perm. use I would get it as high as I could and along with the antenna mod, should work just fine.
