Here's my problem. For some reason when using the pace box connected to my DLP via component or DVI, I get audio and video drops/pixelization.
The drops are either every 30 secs exactly or several minutes without any followed by 8-10 right in a row.
When using the DVR box connected via s-video, I do not get this problem.
I originally assumed it was the box and switched it out. Both boxes I've had have done the same thing. BHN techs have been out 3 times. Each time my wife has been there and she is a bit less demanding than I am. The latest tech is sending someone out to apparently turn down the signal outside (this is as related by the tech to my wife).
When I called BHN, they were unable to communicate with my box when it was on. Of course, the tech refuses to pay attention to these things and check them out.
I don't see how the drops could be caused by signal strength. If there is a regular pattern to the interruption, it must be caused by some mechanical/electronic issue. However, I would also assume that the problem would show up on the DVR box.
I have the pace box set to 720 - so it is doing the scaling of all signals. Even if I set it to pass, I get the same problem. So, it doesn't seem to be the scaler in the box.
I am stumped. The only thing I haven't yet tested is moving the box to another TV to see if it still happens. I don't believe there is a problem with the component/DVI connection to the TV since my ota box works fine via component. I suppose I can confirm that the connection is not the problem by hooking up my ota box to the same component/Dvi connections as the Pace box.
Any suggestions?
