Scrooged on WTOG44 - Was it HD?
It certainly looked like it to me.
If so, nice job Ch44!

yes, when we were there for the Station Tour, one of our hosts was going to have to come in on Saturday just to record that feed from CBS.
They have the OK to run it twice, so it will be coming back on.

Is there anywhere to check what HD content they are going to show?
There used to be someone from ch44 who posted on AVSForum to let everyone know what HD content was being aired that month (at the time, mostly Sat night movies).
It was a bit of a let down that the Enterprise they showed after was not HD. I guess they can only show that once.

"Scrooged" is part of the Paramount HD movie package that WTOG airs monthly. Jaymer is correct that we get to run it twice. This feature is recorded by us to D5 HD digital tape and replayed on weekend dates. Whenever we air a HD program, we usually list it on the PSIP program guides so you can tell. Other regular HD features are "Enterprise" (Wednesday's only for now-network rule), "Jake 2.0", and selected Friday UPN movies. I will be posting the January and February features soon on this site,
Happy Holidays everyone!

Could you please explain what the "now network" rule is?
Since Enterprise was not in HD this week, is it possible that saturday night's rebroadcast might be?
Can CBS send down a feed of it so you guys can record it?
Can we come back over to the conference room to watch it there?
Will the same chairs still be in the conference room?

Jaymer,
We did not air "Enterprise" last night in HD due to technical problems that came up with the installation of electronics associated with our new switcher(you know-the one that liquid from your flask spilled into during the tour?). It was very unfortunate but unavoidable. The upconverted feed was the only signal I could pass on to the viewers. I do not expect this to be a problem in the future.
UPN does not feed the show for the weekend in HD at this time, although I believe that will change. If I had the ability to re-air it again I would, but I can't. You would, of course, be welcome to return to station again.
We have considered having safety harnesses installed in the chairs in the conference room for your convenience. The reinforced steel cage I special ordered for you is on back order....
By the way, just what IS the "now network" rule you speak of? Sounds like a spinoff of OXYGEN....
Regards.

I told Jaymer that spilling the liquid would come back to haunt him.
Bob, have you posted the schedule for Feb and March on the site? I am interested in what is coming up for UPN..
BTW.. I personally want to thank you for being such a gracious host!

Bob...
you asked "just what is the Now Network rule" I spoke of.
how the heck am i supposed to know... because just a few msgs ago YOU wrote it:
From Dec 22 post: Other regular HD features are "Enterprise" (Wednesday's only for now-network rule)
Is someone spiking the water over there or what?
But seriously, since you guys CAN record stuff in HD, what is it exactly that prevents you from showing the tape in Saturday night? Is it commericials?
Also, I know I asked when we were there... but lets say that BHN wanted to start carrying you guys in the digital tier to run Enterprise on Wed in HD via cable. What technically (equipment wise) has to be in place at your side (or their side) thats not there now, for that to happen?

Jaymer,
Technicalities, technicalities...
What I meant was that Enterprise would be in HD from network on Wednesdays, for NOW....as a RULE, the network will not let us re-air the Wednesday show due to commercial content differences. The folks that pay the bills for the spots on the 1st run, aren't the same ones that buy the 2nd. I should have left more space around the hyphen I guess.
And yes...the water is spiked. Dont you remember your chair becomming unstable? Were checking on bottled water for the future.
Regarding BHN cable. If the legal stuff is settled, they would probably pull it off-air. We fiber our analog 44 signal direct to them at present but since the air signal for 59 is digital already, nothing would be lost in quality. Just a guess for now. Ask me that again when the legal stuff is over.
Have I lied to you yet?
