I have seen it happened and they just replaced the cable modem when it did.

This is the same for us here in Orlando.

It will do it at night and when they do it, this seems like some game in a horror movie.

Hopefully, they can stop this as it wakes my mother up at the parent's place.

I've had the same modem for almost 4 years now. Before it rebooted once every few months, but now it's daily...it happened today at 2:00pm...I called BH last week and the best they can do is have someone come over on thursday..hopefully a new modem would resolve the problem

If you can't wait the long you can always go in to a local office and swap it out.

Make sure you don’t have a power related problem in your house. A few years ago I had the power keep going out (for a second) in my bedroom every evening around the same time. I replaced the breaker and it’s been fine ever since.

They were able to come yesterday. They gave me a new modem and also said the signal boost was too strong and had to lower it buy putting a "tap" splitter in my main control box that I have in the master bedrrom

The battery light is flashing on the modem.....is it charging ?

exactly

when battery light is flashing it is usually charging. if it does it for more than 2 days, the battery is bad

it's steady now....why would it start charging now after it was steady two nights ago ?

I've been 100% since I swaped my modem last febuary, but last night at 2:30am my alarm went of becuase my modem rebooted. A tech came to my house just now and said there was a software upgrade last night to Docsis 3.0......was anyone else affected ?

It's happening a few areas at a time. For me, it happened about two months ago.

It seems like (although I may be wrong), if your IP address now begins with 173, you're most likely in an area that's been upgraded.

However, I was told by one technician that the current cable modem/MTA hardware won't support DOCSIS 3.0. Knowing the track record of some techs, that may or may not be accurate.

heh.. that's funny

not all modems are docsis 3.0 capable.. they are upgrading the backbone first, then they will worry about the equipment. rumor is just a firmware update to most of the boxes..

Just my luck. I put in a new wireless router this morning and I was getting a bunch of disconnects. I was about ready to return my router thinking it was faulty. Then I notice on every disconnect my ip was changed. I thought hmm thats strange, my modem should hold the ip until my router comes back online. Now the disconnects have stopped and I have an ip starting with 173.

DSquare I realize this is a late response but did you resolve all your problems?
