Good Morning!

I'm a relative newcomer, as I've only been a member of this forum for a few days and ANY assistance or guidance that anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated.

I took delivery of a new Sony HDTV this week and hooked it up to a newly installed Terk TV-35 antenna. I immediately began to receive HDTV programming with the exception of the local CBS affiliate. My question is as follows:

Will I require a separate antenna to receive this or will the Terk pick it up once properly "tweaked". I probably should mention that I may have a serious multipath issue with analog channel 10, as "ghosting" is pretty severe.

Additionally, should I expect to receive the CBS signal on 10.1 or 24.1 ?

Thanks in advance. :?: :?:

CBS should be 10.1 and ABC 24.1. The Terk antenna's are not looked upon as the best of choices. A Channel Master 4228 is a better choice. In any case you should be sitting on CBS if you are in New Port Richey. Make sure you are directing you antenna in the right direction. The problem in Tampa is that CBS in in another direction from the rest of the locals.

Baja,

Thanks for the reply. I'm still confused about the channel numbers. The CEA site lists WTSP-DT (CBS) as 24 and WFTS-DT (ABC) as 29. Is this not correct? I've seen various postings listing 10.1 as well.

With regard to the antenna selection, I can get very good reception on 12 of the 13 digital stations listed on the CEA site so I'm reluctant to change. If an additional antenna is necessary for CBS, I'll do it then.

The channels #'s get remaped by your STB or digital tuner. 12 out of 13 is doing good. If you are trying to get CBS with out trying to redirect your antenna, that is most likely the problem. You will most likely need a second antenna pointed toward CBS along with a jointenna for channel 24 (10.1 on your tuner) or a rotor.

If you're where you say you are, an antenna for WTSP is probably not even necessary. I'd stick a traditional VHF/UHF on a pole and aim it towards Tampa. Receiving CBS should not be an issue in New Port Richie.
