I am thinking about getting one of those two remotes, which aside from the touch screen and better button layout on the harmony one, seem to be pretty much the same thing.
Logitech lists the 8300hd as supported on their site but gives no detail so I wondered if anybody here has experience using the harmony remotes with the 8300hd. The BHN remote has a lot of unusual buttons and functions that are not typical of any other hardware (except maybe other dvr cable boxes) and I wonder how difficult it is to get all those functions to work, like the A,B,C buttons and the list button , things like that.
thanks.

It is not too difficult. The standard support that you get when you program does a pretty good job but you can always go in and customize to get the buttons you want on the first page, etc. It is not very hard to do. I have set up about 4 or 5 of those remotes for different folks and they are all very pleased.

I have the Harmony One and it works flawlessly for me. I have the A, B, C buttons programmed on the screen plus my other favorite channels. I highly recommend it. A guy from AVS forums built a site for the icons that you can use for the One.

I can highly recommend staying away from the 1000, not that its on your list. The touchscreen was HORRIBLE. I started with the 880, which I loved. I then moved to the 1000, which I hated (but I did love the RF). So I sold it and bought the 890 (same as 880 but with RF). I am now happy again.
And yeah, it works easily with my 8300.

I have a Harmony One, but have given up on it, just not programmable enough for me.
I'll sell it if anyone is interested, I have the original box and all the original accessories, it's like new.

"Not programmable enough?" Hmm...
What do you want for it?

Just did a search for completed items on eBay and it looks like $160 is a fair price.
I can't program the power button to turn the system on, it will only tun it off. My house guests found this too confusing.
