Since going to the 20 meg speed, I have found only one site that will give me an accurate speed test (speedtest.cfl.rr.com). I can't get an accurate report from dslreports, or even the speed test at tampabay.rr.com, as they either test on a packet that's too small to get to top speed, or the site runs on limited bandwidth. All of these sites report max speeds no higher than about 8 megabit.
So....are there any other reliable speed tests out there for high-bandwidth connections?

www.speedtest.net (http://www.speedtest.net) is one on the most accurate test sites I have seen.

I don't get anywhere close to my correct speeds with the speedtest.net. Using them I get usually between 10-15meg compared to using RR's test where I show I'm getting 20meg.
When I first got the 20meg service and tested my speed using speedtest.net I called them and asked if I had the right package uploaded into my modem cause I'm topping out at 15meg if I'm lucky. They then pointed me over to the RR speed test website where there it does show I have 20/2meg.

Speedtest and Speakeasy both give me almost identical readings of my 10/2 fios service. I notice that the Speedtest site also gives a ping time.

I have the FiOS second tier speed service. I am not clear on what this is. It started at 10/2 but I think has been bumped up a few times since I have had it. I "think" it is supposed to be 20/5 at this point.
Here are my test results in case anyone wants to compare:
speedtest.verizon.net
19.94/4.479
speedtest.net (Tampa server)
20.49/4.2
speakeasy.net/speedtest (Atlanta server)
20.4/4.4
All three test pretty close and also pretty close to the max for the service. I am happy to see this.
One think I do recall when I changed out the D-Link router they had originally given me to a Netgear router the speed increased alot. Currently using a Belkin Vision N1.

In my opinion, I would trust the results from speedtest.net than a RR speed test website. Your on the same network as RR so of course you are going to get the results you want but get a connection to an outside test and you get 10-15, that is your real bandwidth connection to the internet.

Yeah, I got a pretty wide range of results from those sites, all at about 4:30 Eastern time on a Monday afternoon:
RR: 19812/1755
Non-RR Low: 10892/1715 (San Francisco on speedtest.net)
Non-RR High: 19482/1749 (Chicago on speedtest.net)
The down speeds were in a very wide range, but up speeds were all within a tight margin.
Considering I was on a 768k line until two months ago...I'm satisfied!
Thanks to all for the suggestions.

thats the real connection to that server.. speedtest.net allows a bunch of people to act as a "speed server"
if it comes down to troubleshooting, we stay on network to determine if the issue is ours or not.
speakeasy is usually pretty close
