Stupid question about D* and screen burn

Hello,
I am D* illiterate and I have question about the various menus on the service and how they affect screen burn in on RPTV's.

When I visit my in-laws or friends and watch D*, I always see a menu at the bottom of the screen with program information that displays for a few seconds every time you turn channels.

Won't this burn into your screen eventually? Can these menus be disabled?

Sorry for the basic questions but I might be switching to D* soon.

Different STB's will have different menu's and different features on setting your preferences. The short time that that menu is up should have no harm on the display. You just don't want to put up a menu and walk away leaving it up for hours. Most STB's will revert back to programing if the menu is left up for a certain amount of time.
