FiOS: Tampa's new HD lineup to show up on Oct 7th
As we suspected, Verizon will add at least 52 new HD channels to the Tampa bay area lineup on Oct 2nd. The addition of the channels will also result in a channel reassignment as mentioned in an earlier post.

Here is the new channel lineup effective 10/7.

Wow, that certainly looks a lot better. It almost makes it worth waiting all these months with almost no new HD channels.

Sci-FI HD, just in time for the Atlantis cancellation... UG. Well, maybe I'll see some BSG in HD.

Gosh, when will they FINALLY come to St. Pete???? They have just about all the premiums in HD now. One thing I cannot stand about my DirecTV is the lack of HBO/MAX in HD. We have most of the Starz and Showtimes, but not all. BHN is about worthless with their HD premiums.

I just received a post card today from Verizon that says "Verizon FIOS is coming to your area" with a cheetah running across the front. On the back, it tells me to go to verizon.com/fiosnotifyme to sign up to be notified when it comes to my neighborhood. Well, I signed up for that notification well over a year ago and have probably resigned up twice since.
Anybody know how long it takes to get serviceable from the time you see the digging notices and get this post card? weeks? months? years? This postcard has no timetable at all.

I wish they would have left the HD channels at the end of the lineup close to the SD broadcast channels instead of sticking them up in the 500s+
It's much easier to surf the way they are now.
But that's really a very minor complaint. At least I get Fios!

I just edit out the SD channels then it just as easy to surf, or can you not edit the lineup on the FiOS DVR the way you can on a TiVo and Media Center?
