If you have a FIOS multimedia HD DVR in room A, and a standard FIOS cable box in room B. I Know you cannot view recorded HD from room A in B in HD. But will it downconvert HD (recorded in A) to SD (in room B). It would suck if you had to predict what show you MAY want to watch from the B room and make sure you record the SD Channel.

Nope. It won't downconvert.

Also the (non-DVR) HD boxes don't support the multi-room DVR function so you can only watch programs recorded in SD on an SD box. Good luck catching this detail when you read about the multi-room DVR service.
According to something posted in AVS forum, the HD boxes are supposed to get multi-room DVR capabilities in the second half of 2008. No idea if that will include HD or be rolled out locally....

I heard the same thing from a Verizon Tech I was talking to at a fast food joint, the HD STBs will be able to view recorded HD content from an HD-DVR. At the rate it's going, he suspects it won't be until 4th Quarter.
I'd really like to be able to view DVR programming in SD or HD on one of my home computers (without having to add a Slingbox).
