Well I went ahead and made the switch over to Fios internet, TV and phone. The Triple Play Package.

Here's what I got:
All the FiOS Premier Channels
(3) SD Boxes
(1) HD box
HBO/Cinemax Combo
20/5 Internet Service
Phone service - unlimited calling and long distance, yadda yadda yadda

$140.00 a month before taxes.

They even threw in (2) $100 AMEX Gift cards, I get one after 30 days and the other in the 13th month of service (basically next December).

Install is slated for the 14th. I'm really crossing my fingers here that this was the right decision, but from what I can tell everyone loves the quality and clarity of the TV Channels and of course everyone loves their superfast internet.

I've had the FiOS triple play for just about a year now.

1. The telephone part of the service has been fine.

2. The internet service has been pretty good. They gave me a free upgrade on bandwidth after I had it for a few months. My only complaint is that they delete your e-mail after a certain number of days if you don't download the messages to your computer. I lost some important e-mail messages before I realized this. Now I use my Yahoo.com e-mail address as my primary address, and my verizon.net address only secondarily. The also give you free web space for a personal website, which I haven't yet used.

3. The tv service started out good, but has been losing ground to competitors. They have not been as aggressive in adding new HDTV channels, although they have promised to add a bunch in the coming year. The big problem is with the interactive media guide (IMG). The original IMG was a bland black & white screen but very useful for scanning through channels and scheduling DVR recordings. The new IMG that was rolled out a few weeks ago is more colorful but it lacks several features from the old interface and is quite buggy. I won't go into the details but there is an extended discussion over at the AVS forum on this thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=617635.

Overall, I'm pleased with my FiOS service, but with 180 plus channels to sift through having a buggy IMG makes things very difficult. I'll give them a few months to work the bugs out, but if they don't, this is a serious enough problem that I may start looking for a different provider.

Where in Tarpon Springs are you located? I saw them lay the lines awhile ago but still as of yet my address doesn't show availability for FiOS. Also are any of the boxes you getting have dvr?

I live around Alt 19 and Anclote Blvd. Right at the County Line. We've had the availability for about 6 months now, they kept sending me offers in the mail and I finally took them up on one :)

And no, I didn't get any DVR's from them, I have 2 Tivos, hence the need for all those cable boxes. I hope to solve this eventually by getting a Tivo HD that uses cable card slots and go that route.
