With all the HD content that is being added to DirecTv HD tier in the next few weeks, who's going to switch if Verizon does not add the same channels. Just on the first set of new channels there are a ton that i watch on a regular basis (FX USA and Sci-Fi). What are your thought on this and has anybody heard of of Verizon's future HD offerings?

I'm not jumping ship.. I'm just tying up my current ship next to theirs.

Yep, it's easy to justify having both during football season.
Come January, I'll have a decision to make. But honestly, I don't see myself ditching my Series3 for a HR20 for all the programming in the world.

I can't jump ship until my contract is up in February 2008. I hope by then VZ will have added more HD channels to remain competitive.

Ohh, you can jump now, it's only money, which isn't nearly as important as HD. ;)

I got out of my FIOS contract. I bitched and bitched and bitched (but it was all legit complaints) and I finally cancelled and they let me out clean!

Where are all these new HD channels coming from? I don't see near as many as Direct says they'll have in the "near future". Look on http://www.lyngsat.com/. HBO said all their channels will be HD when they switch to MPEG4, whenever that will be, but where are the rest?
Just more "vapor channels" to hook people into a contract.

There are legitimately about 60, the rest is them bragging about their capacity.

Many are new HD channels. I'm sure other providers will add them soon.
Here's the initial list
