View Full Version : 4 digits now for channel numbers?
I just noticed this a few minutes ago - 4 digits for the channel numbers. I use the Pace box. Anyone know why this is? The channels don't go any higher than 995.
edit - I just noticed I put this in the General Discussions, when it should have went to the BHN forum....sorry

same here on my pace box...the SA dvr box is doing the same thing...channel 9 displays as 0009 on both when you tune too it.

I noticed this too . . . guess they need more channels for all the HD that is going to be added

I hope this isn't permanent. I don't see the need for 4 digits and it will mean I have to reprogram the 50 favorite channels on my remote, or wait for the box to recognize the 3 digits it's currently sending out.
There appears to be enough space below 1000 for other channels...unless they plan on doing something I can't foresee.

It only adds extra zeros after you've selected the channel on the front of the box..you still just hit 9 for channel 9.

But I'm a power-surfer. Therefore, I don't like hitting 9 to go to channel 9. It takes about 2 seconds for the box to switch the channel if you do it that way. Instead, if you dial in 009 (or 0009 now) it immediately switches channels. That's how I prefer it. Remembering to hit that extra 0 before all channels is a pain. Also as I said above, I'll have to reprogram my MX500 remote's Favorite channels so they switch quickly as well. I'll hold off doing that until I know this is permanent.

I guess I am lucky. I have always hit 9 then enter.
So this change doesn't effect me at all. I always thought it was easier that than 009 anyways.

I have the pace box and haven't received this update yet? I'm in the Seminole/Largo area. Why would some have received the update, and others not?

Well, it appears that both my PVR and the Pace box are back to the 3 digit inputs this evening. Glad I didn't reprogram my remote. :D

My Tivo told me there was a new channel 1000 Sunshine but of course I don't see it on BHN digital cable box.

I don't know if they were doing testing but they were showing the Lakers v Knicks game in HD this week or at least a replay of it.
