I called a authorized RCA repair shop to see if I can get my 6 months old crappy RCA D52W20 fixed under warrenty...the lady I spoke too is going to have the boss call me when he gets his truck out of the shop 8O ......I have a feeling I may not hear from him,lol
Plus she said the warrenty only covers labor for 90 days..RCA's site says all projection sets have labor and parts covered for one year so hopefully she was just confused and won't give me a problem there.

God I hate doing stuff like this...red tape everywhere. :?

this is the set that I mentioned in another thread that has streaking from left to right off any bright spot on a dark background and 2 inch wide vertical bars that are plainly visible on a dark background but fade to smooth as they get to the right side of the screen....it was like this from day one.

Keep us posted. I sure wouldn't take no for an answer. You may have to call RCA directly and follow that up with a letter. Does the Owner's Manual also support the longer Warranty period?

yep, the warrenty info in the manual that came with tv is identical to the online warrenty description...1 year parts and labor on defects in materials or workmanship....Hopefully they won't try to claim its not a defect, although from past experience trying to get things fixed under manufacturers warrenty, that is what I expect will happen :?

I think the streaking problem is probly caused by a cheap or inferior part that controls some aspect of luminance.....the other problem could just be something not alighned correctly or another inferior part...either way I would consider that a manufacturers defect since it was like that when I got it...bad parts sourcing or factory inspections is their fault, not mine, regardless of how cheap the tv is.
