I need to leave BHN. I am thinking FIOS or DirecTV. My wife always uses the VOD feature. I understand DiecTV has no VOD, but is it coming? I read few articles online about DirecTV using an existing broadband connection to send VOD. ?
Thanks,
Steve

DirecTV is planning on deploying VOD, by using some of the space on their DVR for VOD content. So if you bought the HR20, it includes a 300GB drive, they would advertise it as a 250GB drive and reserve 50GB for VOD. Then content would be sent via Sat to every DVR so you'd be able to watch it whenever you want.
Not sure when this will be deployed, but I do know that you have pay upfront for the DVR, about $400.

The time is now.....DOD or Directv On Demand is now active in my home. They have almost every channel on demand right now.

not yet. It's in the menu but it says there is no content available at this time. DOD is still in its BETA stage but it works great. I'll keep you posted as to when HD shows up.
